Trekking gears are for personal safety. The proper gears at a particular time of the year in Nepal are advised. we have a tropical monsoon climate because of its location in the globe and the distance from the closest ocean. We have higher hills but the permanent snow line at 4000 m and above. It is chilling cold above 3500 meters year-round. The climate is unpredictable up in the mountains the rain, snowfall, cloud, or blizzards can be experienced. So, we will request our clients to have the following gears to bring with them or hire from Kathmandu before the beginning of the trip. We would request to consider the following checklist for your trip /trek :
A valid passport that has sufficient days before gets expire.
Proper travel document which meets the travel advisory of the host country.
A comfortable and decent seasonal outfit would be great. Proper hiking/trekking boots and sufficient pairs of socks.
Proper warm clothes like inner thermals, jackets (down), wind chitter, capes or head wears, and proper hand gloves.
Trekking/hiking poles and other personal comfortable outfits.
Sunblock creams or moisturizing creams etc.
A warm sleeping bag.
Electric power back up like solar charger or portable power banks for cameras and cell phones however power cutoff has not been a problem in major cities, suburban and rural areas but having, a small alternative way is a better idea.
Water purifier pills or anything similar because in the mountain the bottled water is expensive and adds plastic wastes.
Guide / Porter Hire
Traveling with a guide is a comfortable and secure idea. you can share knowledge about the culture, history, religion, and geography of the region.
All the guides and porters working with the Hillstrek team hold the Nepal government's license. They have a basic understanding and communication skills in English. Depending on your requirements we can also send an English or your language guide to you too. The individual and the group travelers who do not want the trekking package and are looking for just the Guide and porters.
Hillstrek team can provide you this service on the following terms and conditions:
The individual trekkers are not allowed to have a Nepali guide or porters with them unless their permits or TIMS or required trekking documents are been issued by the trekking company. so, you have to issue these required documents from Hillstrek Team.
The documentation charge will be added with a 10% service charge and 13% Nepal government VAT /tax.
The guide and porters insurance charge and the levied tax have to be paid by you.
Once you book the guide /porters from us then, we have to submit the 13% VAT to the government depending on the duration and difficulty.
We provide porter on the ratio of 2:1 i.e. two trekkers: 1 porter. As per the government rule, one porter can carry a maximum of 20 kg depending on the difficulty and duration of the trek.
